Antenna Design, Prototyping and Education with the Anten'it Kit
Do you ever dream of designing and building your own antenna? Do you like creating things with building blocks? Then the Anten’it kit is just the thing for you! You can now build and design your own antenna using small brick-like metal and dielectric cells and test how it works at home, school, university or in your lab. It is perfect for STEM-based learning and an innovative way to introduce students to the concepts and principles of antenna design as well as prototyping for researchers and professional engineers. Yes, this kit is ideal for high-school students, university students, researchers, and engineers alike. There are various kits available to suit the needs of students and professionals. These kits provide the tool to examine different antenna designs and come up with unique and novel working models. The Anten’it kit is cutting edge, one-of-a-kind and there is none other like it.
What’s in the Anten’it kit?
- Metal cells of various sizes
- 3 types of dielectric cells with dielectric constants of 2.6, 4.4, and 8, respectively
- Ground planes
- Connectors
How does this kit work?
The first step is to design your antenna, either by choosing one of the pre-designed projects available in the kit or alternatively, you can also use analytical calculations and antenna design software such as CST Studio Suite (the components are available as CST models) to design your antenna. Following this, you can build your antenna using the different metal and dielectric cells, ground planes, and connectors. Then connect your newly built antenna to a radio or a network analyser to test it. You can add or remove cells to increase or decrease the antenna aperture and gain etc. And just like you do with building blocks, you can de-construct the cells and re-use them to make another antenna! Have a look at the demo video to learn more about this kit.
There are four different types of Anten’it kits custom-designed to suit the needs of the students, researchers, and antenna engineers:
- Antenna training kits
A laboratory is a place where students learn, discover, and create new things every day. The Anten’it training kit provides a wonderful opportunity for both high school and university students to create their own antennas and test their efficiency using a suitable radio or a network analyser if available. This kit supports the idea of a STEM-based learning curriculum and would help bridge the gap between theory and practice! Gone are the days where antennas were only made by RF engineers. This easy-to-use kit equips your students with practical knowledge and cutting-edge techniques. So, give your students these awesome kits and watch the experiments unravel.

2. Antenna research kit
This Anten’it kit is excellent for use in research experiments and STEM projects. This kit is perfect for bachelors’, masters’, and Ph.D. students who are on the lookout for new prototyping tools to put their ideas into practice. The metal and dielectric cells in this research kit allow students and researchers to examine different antenna designs and answer their research questions. Furthermore, this kit allows the use of different dielectric constants within the same layer, unlike the conventional printed circuit board antenna that allows only one dielectric constant within one layer. Get this kit and be one step ahead with your research.

3. Antenna design and prototyping kit
Antenna engineers are at the forefront of designing novel and unique antennas to satisfy the needs of the growing market. This Anten’it kit would be ideal for antenna engineers as it enables them to create new prototypes and test them using a network analyser. Another usage of the kit is for conceptual designs. Engineers can build many kinds of antennas and antenna arrays. Thus, this kit can be used to build antenna systems, such as DF (direction finding) antennas, radar, communication systems, MIMO systems, IOT (Internet of things), 5G antennas, etc.
Of course, this kit is also ideal for more advanced STEM courses and projects.

4. Multiple-antenna kit
This kit is designed for researchers and system engineers who work with multiple antennas and antenna arrays. This kit has the capability of building more than 100 commercial off-the-shelf equivalent antennas. This Anten’it kit comes with a data sheet that covers over 100 antennae with different parameters and operated at different frequencies (up to 6 GHz). You can choose the appropriate antenna based on your need and build it using the instructions provided within the kit. This also reduces the need to buy a new antenna at the beginning of every project and hence would be a great investment.
High-end STEM educators may also want to consider this kit for their courses and projects.
