I will be honest, I won't use or understand a significant amount of the tech this product offers - so I do apologise to the tech hungry folks looking for real use data. I simply bought this to replace my Nighthawk M2 for no other reason than TS-9 connectors completely suck.
I needed a mobile router for a specific location that is a dead area on Telstra's coverage map. Literally amongst mountains, next to a creek, at the base of a 100m cliff. I utilise the Directional High Gain 4G MIMO Antenna Set (also purchased from RFShop).
Everything started out fine with the Nighthawk, but over 12 months, my connection got more and more intermittent to the point of non existent. I though it was because of the dead zone - I even came close to replacing my MIMO antenna setup - but it turns out, after trying my 8th pair of TS-9 adapters, the TS-9 connection is the problem. Too easy to damage and it wears out when it's needed to repeatedly be connected/reconnected.
Enter the RUT360 with it's threaded SMA connectors. Easy to set up, and once I had it connected, I've had perfectly uninterrupted internet without missing a beat. Fantastic. Those threaded connections aren't going anywhere.
For my needs, the fact it needs constant power with no rechargeable battery is it's only downside, should I experience a power outage. However I have basic backup power so It's not something that should affect me.
I would like to also add, RFShop had my RUT360 order on it's way within 24 hours of placing the order. Fantastic service once again from the RFS crew.
