The Alfa Wifi Omni Antenna With Magnetic Base is a 9 dBi gain rubber duck antenna. It is designed for use with wireless adapters that have an RP-SMA connector on them. Many PCI and some USB adapters have this type of connector. Alfa models  AWUS036NH, AWUS036NHA, AWUS036ACH, AWUS1900 are all compatible with this antenna, as is any other Wi-Fi adapter with an RP-SMA connector.

This antenna measures 15″ in height. It is heavy, so with he magnetic base and 1.5 m cable the antenna does not need to be directly on the adapter. If you would like to use it without the magnetic base some wireless USB adapters, including the Alfa units mentioned above, may need to be mounted or leaned against something to prevent the setup from tipping over. However with the magnetic base and the 1.5 m extension cable you can have the antenna separately from the adapter. This unit is brand new in OEM factory packaging (non-retail). You will receive the antenna just as shown on the photo. It has no electronic parts and requires no installation on the computer- simply attach it to the RP-SMA female connector on your wireless adapter and it will automatically work. This may seem basic, but just to be clear not all wireless adapters have an external antenna connector. You should only buy this if you know your adapter has an RP-SMA female connector. If you are unsure, please email us with your adapter brand and model number.
