Professional equipment that works

The RUTX50 increased our 5G speed by 40Mb/sec after latency. Great Linux interface modem with a Command Line Interface so you can configure advanced functions. No problems with SIM card after transferring from old modem. Interface is good and should be ok for novice users as well. Suggest outdoor antenna and then you can fire it up to full effect. Refreshing to have something that works for a change.

Significant Improvement

I live in a rural area where the only internet options are Cellnet (Telstra) or satellite. The latter is too slow and patchy (via NBN) and Starlink not an easy option due to trees. 4G mobile is 1 to 2 bars on iPhone when good but there are dead spots. Previous SIM only modem routers have performed "OK" but often needed rebooting and internet was at times unusable.
It is early days with the RUTX50 modem & Poynting XPOL-24 antenna combo but so far results are good. Average download 51 Mb/s upload 26 Mb/s (Std Dev 19 & 12 respectively). That compares to previous 28 Mb/s upload, 4 Mb/s down load (Std Dev 18 & 4 respectively). The new system is way more expensive, but being industrial grade I am hoping it will be prove to be far more reliable. 5G is poor here but maybe OK in future. So far so good....

Excellent reception with small and external aerials in both fixed and mobile caravan applications.
