POYNTING introduces their all newย XPOL-24ย antenna and forms part of the new Lion Series. The XPOL-24 is an expansion of our very popularย XPOL-2-5Gย antenna range. The antenna features 4ร4 MIMO for 5G routers and futureproof implementation. The antenna applies our advanced meta-material technology, making use of Artificial Magnetic Conductors (AMC) to achieve exceptional bandwidth and gain.
Theย XPOL-24ย antenna covers the up-and-coming 5G bands, including the lower 617 to 960MHz and the upper 3400 to 4200MHz bands. The antenna performs exceptionally well in the following frequency bands: 617 to 960MHz, 1710 to 2700MHz & 3400 to 4200MHz. The antenna can achieve a peak gain of 11dBi across the wide band of operation, due to the implementation of the advanced meta-material technology.
Theย XPOL-24ย antenna also features 4ร4 MIMO capability, adding to the exceptional performance of the antenna. The antenna elements are cross-polarised with vertical, horizontal and ยฑ45ยฐ polarisations with spatial diversity for improved diversity and decorrelation. The frequency bands supported by the antenna are illustrated in the following graph.

Technical overview
The XPOL-24 expands Poyntingโs very popular Cross Polarised (XPOL) antenna range. The XPOL-24 is their first ever 4ร4 MIMO 5G/LTE bands with exceptional performance. This is due to the incorporation of advanced metamaterial technology, making use of an Artificial Magnetic Conductor (AMC) and new registered/patent configuration, which has proven to yield exceptional improvements in bandwidth and gain. The radiation patterns of this antenna are exceptionally well controlled, which further adds to exceptional performance of the antenna.
The XPOL-24 offers wideband frequency coverage from 617 to 4200 MHz, with a peak gain of 11dBi across the bands of operation. The antenna performs exceptionally well in the following frequency bands: 617 โ 960 MHz, 1710 โ 2170 MHz, 2300 โ 2700 MHz & 3400 โ 4200 MHz. The exceptional wideband performance is an important factor for 5G/LTE technologies, as these technologies rely on features such as Carrier Aggregation (CA) to provide the best possible reception and throughput over multiple frequency bands simultaneously. This makes the XPOL-24 the go to solution for current and future 5G/LTE antenna deployments.
